A healthy relationship between the school and home
is of great importance for every child in our care. We actively encourage
parents to come and observe the children working with the teachers and also to
contribute to a special lesson themselves, if they so wish, by prior arrangement
with the Manager. In the past, parents have demonstrated different musical
instruments, taught cooking skills and given the children a valuable insight
into different professions.
Regular parent's evenings are organised to show the
children's work, demonstrate Montessori materials and for an open forum to
discuss issues of special interest. The school also organises end of term events
for children and parents to meet socially.
A detailed record is kept of each child's progress
through the Montessori curriculum. Every parent is invited by the Manager for
a private interview twice a year to discuss their child's progress, and to ask
any questions they may have. The progress record is always available to parents
and is given to
them when the child leaves the care of the school.
Parents may make an appointment to see the
Manager at
any time during a term.
